Italian Lessons in Sydney

Are you interested in reading great works of literature in their original language? Even in the best translations, some of the original ideas can be lost due to words not meaning exactly the same thing or puns not working in another language. So, learning Italian will unlock the ability for you to access beautiful literary works as they were meant to be experienced, like Dante’s Divina Commedia or Italo Calvino’s Le città invisibili (Invisible Cities). Contact us today and our native-speaking instructors will prepare a personalised course for you to learn Italian through literature, songs, movies, TV series or any other media product you enjoy! And did you know, if you are an English speaker, you have an advantage learning Italian? Approximately 30% of words in English are of Latin origin. This means that many words, like latte, soprano, influenza or cameo, will sound familiar to you, even if you have never studied Italian before.

Furthermore, knowing Italian is especially useful in Sydney as more than 200,000 people claim Italian ancestry and speak the language at home. This means there are countless opportunities to put your skills into practice with other Italian language learners and native speakers. For example, why not attend one of the many language exchange clubs, like Italian Connection Meetup, and have a great time while getting to know like-minded people?

Plus, there are many festivals, shows and events that celebrate Italian heritage in Sydney, and you can enhance the experience of attending them with knowledge of Italian!
